  • Associate Creative Technology and Content Director – Minneapolis Office

    The Associate Creative Technology & Content Director is responsible for the overall management of uses of creative technologies collaborating with our staff and specific partners to develop and prototype the agency’s interactive concepts – including web, software, mobile, gaming, social and mixed reality. This role is also responsible for the overall management, creation and collaboration of content making needs including, but not limited to photography, videography, animation and motion graphics and illustrations for use in multi-channel environments.
    The person in this position collaborates and develops innovative interactive and content appropriate ideas from brief to prototype, and prototype to delivery, while ensuring the most innovative, fresh, relevant and appropriate use of new and existing technology and is responsible for cultivating this approach to technology throughout the Creative Department, and the agency. This position is the link to the Creative Department and will act as a catalyst to integrating both digital culture and content making within the agency.

    Responsibilities:

    Major Responsibilities / Primary Functions General
    • Maintains and expands relationships with freelance specialists and tactical partners
    • Helps overall team estimate, budget and allocate hours while reconciling frequently
    • Keeps abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape; makes recommendations
    to the Agency
    • Develops department organizational strategies to align with agency’s strategy and business goals involving technologically powered experiences
    • Develops and maintains the overall workflow to create efficiencies
    • Works hand-in-hand with Creative Directors to oversee / review the work across multiple projects simultaneously to ensure it meets high quality standards
    • Participates in research & development, new business development, client management, technical feasibility, architecture and vendor management
    • Ensures the high standard of our creative principles are maintained in this rapid prototyping environment including code quality, user interface and overall experience design
    • Collaborates with Producers to ensure the design needs of each project are met in a timely manner
    • Screen, hire and evaluate freelancers for production
    • Troubleshoot issues and offer knowledgeable solutions
    • Serve as lead producer on select projects
    • Be the primary production contact for internal account teams
    • Implement plans for staffing, processes, budget tracking, and work flow
    • Work with Executive Creative Director and Resource Director to creatively problem solve and to identify resourcing needs
    • Ensure all production jobs are reconciled and billed

    Major Responsibilities / Primary Functions – Technology
    • Provide a voice and vision for technology and communicates it to Creative Directors and Producers; creates multiple application solutions for a given brief; develops new initiatives for the site / platform / application / etc; generates ideas beyond assigned projects
    • Research and explain available technologies to inspire digital interactivities for our clients' needs
    • Provides project oversight as needed including requirement definition scoping and planning, creative problem solving and conflict resolution
    • Creates, maintains and refines functional and technical specifications documentation standards.
    • Oversees development of quality assurance documentation and test plans
    • Oversees development of coding standards and guidelines as well as conducting code reviews
    • Troubleshoots all significant internal and client issues related to technology

    Major Responsibilities / Primary Functions – Content Production
    • Be a voice of storytelling possibility by engaging agency of options and references
    • Produce most photography and videography projects while delegating select projects outside of your availability
    • Manage, train and support a team as it grows
    • Operate profitably
    • Manage vendors, selection procedures and relationships
    • Manage and schedule athletes and talent in conjunction with our talent management partner
    • Establish and maintain best practices and providing continual improvement
    • Create specific process and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred.
    • 8+ years hands-on development experience or work with multi platform inter-actives and content creation processes including/involving motion and still imagery
    • Strong creative and technical portfolio or case studies
    • Displays a passion for human interactions and storytelling
    • Thorough understanding of basic application architectures and principles of web/software/mobile/social/installations production and development
    • Experience creating and consuming digital and interactive services
    • Experience with common front end tools, i.e.: CSS2/3, Javascript, WebGL, HTML5
    • Experience with backend technologies
    • Experience with vendors, including web hosting companies and technology consultants in global client organizations
    • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize and delegate tasks for each
    • Ability to interact and collaborate well with other departments within the agency to solve problems
    • A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound creative, strategic, and analytical thinking skills, while maintaining composure in stressful situations
    • Exceptional initiative and attention to detail
    • Exceptional relationship building skills, presentation and overall communications skills (i.e. clear, convincing, flexible and accepting of other ideas, commanding yet humble presence)
    Some evening and weekend work and travel required
